Itinerary

Please note itinerary is subject to change if obstacles arise preventing the visit of certain sites. Mission trips are offered exclusively to Encounter School of Ministry students. Airfare is NOT included. Additional terms & conditions can be found at the bottom of this page.

Tuesday, June 8  (Arrival)

Arrival to Dublin Airport (DUB)  – Participants required to arrive by 10am with Group Bus Leaving at 12:00pm. Transportation throughout trip provided via Luxury Coach from Dualway Transport equipped with A/C, WiFi, and a restroom.

  • Slane Castle – We will gather here for a late lunch.
  • Hill of Slane – Time of prayer and praise at this location famous as the place where Saint Patrick lit the paschal fire, bringing Christianity to Ireland.
  • Dinner & Accommodations in Letterkenny at Dillons Hotel (majority of meals for breakfast, lunch, & dinner included in trip cost unless otherwise noted)

Wednesday, June 9  (Acclimation)

Feast of St. Columba

  • Slieve League Cliffs – Among the highest sea cliffs in Europe. From their highest point, it’s a staggering 2,000 foot drop into the swirling Atlantic Ocean below.
  • Lunch on your own (price of this lunch not included in trip cost)
  • Evening celebration of the Feast of Irish St. Columba

Thu. June 10 – Sat. June 12  (Conference)

Encounter Conference at the  Cathedral of Sts. Eunan and Columba

Encounter School of Ministry students will be our ministry team to pray for healing, prophecy, and impartation with our Irish brothers and sisters attending the conference. It is a wonderful opportunity to allow the love of God to flow through you as you minister in power using the gifts of the Holy Spirit!

Sunday, June 13  (Pilgrimage Day)

  • Slemish Mountain – Time of prayer and praise at this location where legend suggests that Patrick was once captured and brought to work as a shepherd under a man named Milchu for around six years while he was a teenager. Conditions were bleak. But there he found faith in God. In St. Patrick’s Confessio, he said, “I used to stay out in the forests and on the mountain and I would wake up before daylight to pray in the snow, in icy coldness, in rain, and I used to feel neither ill nor any slothfulness, because, as I now see, the Spirit was burning in me at that time.”
  • Lunch as a Group – Location TBD
  • Armagh –  Mass at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. This twin-spired, imposing cathedral, on an elevated site, was started in 1840, but work was suspended during the Irish Famine of 1845-48. Work recommenced in 1854 when J.J. McCarthy was appointed architect. It was dedicated for worship in 1873 but the magnificent interior decoration was not completed until early in the 20th century. The cathedral was finally consecrated in 1904.
  • Dinner & Accommodations at Armagh City Hotel (they also provide breakfast the following morning)

Monday, June 14 (Pilgrimage Day)

  • Downpatrick:
    • Down Cathedral and Tombs of St. Patrick, St. Columba and St. Brigid – Just over 800 years ago John De Courcy, a Norman knight, invited Benedictine monks from Chester to establish a monastery on the Hill of Down. Parts of today’s building date back to 1183.
    • 10:00am – Mass at the Tomb of St. Patrick
    • Lunch as a Group – Location TBD
    • The Saint Patrick Centre – A short walk from Down Cathedral, this is the only permanent exhibition in the world about Ireland’s Patron Saint. Explore St. Patrick’s life and legacy through their interactive galleries.
    • Saul Abbey – This site is known as the Cradle of Christianity in Ireland. Tradition holds that St Patrick and his companions landed at the mouth of the Slaney river, a few miles from here, in 432AD. From here Patrick traveled extensively sharing the message of Jesus Christ, and it is said that Saint Patrick died in Saul on March 17th in the Year 461.

Tuesday, June 15 (Pilgrimage Day)

  • Dublin:
    • Morning activities TBD
    • Afteroon free time & dinner on your own (price of this dinner not included in your trip cost)
    • Early evening prayer meeting
    • Accommodations at the Hilton Dublin Airport

Wednesday, June 16   (Departure)

ESTIMATED TOTAL TRIP COST OF $2,350 PER PERSON (can be paid in 4 installments). Price guaranteed when paid in full. If paid in installments, price is subject to change primarily if current exchange rates increase significantly.

PRICE DOES INCLUDE meals unless otherwise noted (drinks other than table wine or water not included), lodging and local transportation via private bus, and admission/entrance fees to all sites.

PRICE DOES NOT INCLUDE AIRFARE, or tips to any non-Encounter-staff tour guides and bus driver (bus driver tips recommended to be approximately €5 per person per day or as generous as you would like to be).

All participants agree to arrive at the Dublin Airport (DUB) by 10:00am Irish Standard Time (GMT+1) on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 with the group bus leaving the airport by 12:00pm at the latest (or earlier if all passengers are accounted for). If a participant misses the group bus to the next destination/hotel at any point, it is that individual’s cost and responsibility to find alternative transportation to catch up with the group.
