SUMMER INTENSIVE

This event offers a survey of the content offered in the first four quarters of the Encounter School of Ministry over a fast four-day* period. It’s perfect for anyone desiring to attend the Encounter School during the year but unable to do so because of distance or schedule. It is also ideal for those discerning their enrollment in the school of ministry but needing greater discernment.

The Lafayette Campus is a satellite school of the Encounter School of Ministry (ESM) founded by Fr. Mathias Thelen and Patrick Reis. Our leadership and instructors have been trained and equipped by ESM and receive ongoing formation through Encounter Ministries.

2-Year Curriculum

Classroom Environment

Each class includes a time of worship, testimony, teaching sessions, activations and small group time.

When do we meet?

Faithful Teaching

Before approval, our curriculum undergoes a rigorous academic curriculum review with a team of respected Catholic theologians, including  Dr. Mary Healy, Dr. Alan Schreck, Dr. Daniel Keating, Rev. Peter F. Ryan, S.J., and Dr. Robert Fastiggi.

Not only did they work to guarantee that the curriculum is free from moral and doctrinal error and rooted deeply in Scripture, official Church teaching and the testimony of the early Church fathers, but they helped to provide greater precision and accuracy in the curriculum to diminish possible confusion and ensure full continuity with Church teaching.

This campus has been reviewed and approved by the bishop of this diocese.

Braxton Callen

Director
Bio

Braxton Callen is a charismatic servant-leader whose passion is to reach the world with the Gospel by walking with Christians as they seek real encounters with Jesus Christ and make missionary disciples. He graduated from the University of Louisiana with a degree in Business Finance. Has has previously served as a Catholic missionary with FOCUS (3 years) at the University of Missouri and Benedictine College and also with Family Missions Company (4 years) in Lazile, Haiti. Braxton now continues his ministry as the founder and director of Every and All and serves as a full time missionary at St Leo’s parish in Lafayette Louisiana.

Libby Callen

Co-Director
Bio

Libby Callen is a Nebraska cradle-Catholic who experienced the power of the Holy Spirit in Encounter Ministries through a weekend Identity School where she experienced transformation in the renewal of mind and heart through what the Lord spoke over her identity. This weekend and the testimony of others led her to joining the online school in fall 2021. She is passionate about journeying with others as they fall in love with Jesus and disciplining them to allow His love to overflow into the world through the power of the Holy Spirit and mission. Libby has served as a foreign Catholic missionary for the last several years and now currently serves as an Every & All parish missionary in Lafayette, LA as well as the co-director for the Encounter Lafayette campus. 

Michael Koenig

Core-Leadership Team
Bio

Michael Koenig was raised in a Catholic home in Omaha, Nebraska. However He fell in love with the person of Jesus Christ first in the Word at 18 years old and then through the Eucharist at 20. Through his deepening of relationship with Christ Michael’s heart has been set on fire to live the Gospel and minister to others in power and truth. He has graduated from the two year Mentorship Program for Lay Leaders through the Archdiocese of Omaha, served as a catechist for Confirmation students for two years at St. Gerald Parish in Ralston Nebraska, and led a young adult ministry for one year, all while working full time as a HVAC service tech. Michael is now serving as a full time missionary for Every and All in Lafayette, Louisiana following the Lord’s call on his heart to radically live out the Gospel in abounding love and transformative joy. 

John Listi

Worship Leader & Core Leadership Team
Bio

John Listi was born and raised in Abbeville, LA where he grew up in a Catholic Charismatic community.  He attended Mt. Carmel Elementary and Vermilion Catholic High School before moving to Baton Rouge for undergraduate studies at Louisiana State University. While at LSU, John fell in love with serving the Lord in ministry. Over the last 25 years John has served as a parish youth minister, high school campus minister, young adult coordinator, foreign mission leader, and director for various diocesan ministries, events and retreats.  John currently works as the Director of Parish Renewal and Evangelization for St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church in his hometown of Abbeville, and serves as the director for Catholic Charismatic Renewal Ministries for the Diocese of Lafayette.  John has been married for 20 years to His beautiful bride Carrie.  Together they have 5 amazing children, Joshua Dominic, Abigail Elizabeth, Olivia Michelle, Emily-Claire Noelle and John-David “Trooper.”  John’s passion for the Lord Jesus and love for the Gospel compel him to live fully into the purpose God has for him through the power of the Holy Spirit.

Cost of Tuition

Satellite Campus

The tuition for the upcoming school year is $250 per quarter (with a discount if you pay by the year). Required books and Mission Trips cost extra.

Enrollment Period
Students enroll and pay tuition for one year at a time. Classes usually start mid-September and run through May. Official dates and class times vary per campus. Upon completion of the 2nd Year School of Ministry, students receive a graduation certificate.

Tuition includes Free Admission to the annual Encounter Conference (in-person or online ticket).

Other Materials
Students will receive a binder for the year that they are encouraged to bring each week and store their weekly student handouts, supplemental reading, and homework assignments. Some students opt to bring a laptop to take down notes, but many do not. We encourage you to purchase a journal on your own for class use. Once onsite students receive their badges, it is required that this is worn at each class and any ministry opportunities they participate in
