main campus
Our main campus is held at the Parish Life Center (PLC) of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Brighton, Michigan. Here resides the founders and instructors of the Encounter School of Ministry, Fr. Mathias Thelen and Patrick Reis. We are blessed to receive instruction and guidance from Dr. Mary Healy of Sacred Heart Major Seminary (Detroit) as well as several guest instructors throughout the year, including Peter Herbeck, Fr. Boniface Hicks and many more.

satellite campuses
Each year we launch new satellite campuses around the world. Each satellite campus has been reviewed and approved by the local bishop(s), and is led by a local director. Our satellite campus directors are ESM graduates who have completed additional formal training and are part of an ongoing formation process.

With the Online Campus, you can now have the transforming experience of the Encounter School of Ministry from home. The online campus provides a flexible learning schedule featuring our Main Campus instructors, including Fr. Mathias Thelen, Patrick Reis, Dr. Mary Healy, Sarah Kaczmarek, Fr. Patrick Gonyeau, Peter Herbeck and many more. You’ll also have an opportunity to connect with your classmates and instructor during a once-weekly live Zoom session, which includes testimonies, worship, activations and time with your small group. If you live outside commuting distance of our Main Campus or one of our Satellite Campuses, we encourage you to enroll in our Online Campus where you will connect with students across the world in this dynamic classroom environment.
